What is Career Advice from a Professional?
Employer partners volunteer with the Career Education Center to be “Career Advisor for a Day.” This is an opportunity for UDM students to meet individually with a recruiter to obtain resume tips, practice interview skills or conduct an informational interview with employees of local organizations!

Attend this information session to be inspired by volunteer stories, learn about the amazing Peace Corps benefits, have your questions answered, and gain tips to guide you through the new application process.

Serving in the Peace Corps is a great way to be immersed in a new culture, learn a new language, and have the experience of a lifetime. Regional recruiter and returned Peace Corps Volunteer Michael Gall will share firsthand what it is like to serve overseas and discuss the application process.

Mentor a Titan Externship Program Info Session 11/19/2014 2:30 PM- 3:30 PM Briggs 105

“Mentor a Titan” is a job shadowing/externship program designed for University of Detroit Mercy students at the freshmen and sophomore levels in non-required co-op programs who are unsure about their future career plans or who would like assistance in better understanding with translating their major to career fields.

During the information session you will learn about the application process, program requirements and benefits of participating in the program! Participants of the Mentor A Titan program will work individually with a career advisor to identify fields of interests and be matched with an employer.

What is an information session?
An Information session is an opportunity to meet recruiters and employees from local organizations interested in hiring UDM students and alumni! This is an opportunity to network and learn how to apply for positions the employer is seeking to fill!

Local Career Fairs

November 14, 2014 Michigan Collegiate Job Fair (MCJF)-9:00am-3:00pm, Burton Manor, Livonia, MI

The Michigan Collegiate Job Fair (MCJF) is a state-wide job fair held in the spring and fall each year. MCJF is open to ANY graduating college senior or recent alumni across the State of Michigan seeking entry level employment opportunities. MCJF is sponsored by Eastern Michigan University and supported by the Michigan Career Educator and Employer Alliance (MCEEA). For a list of participating employers and to register visit http://www.emich.edu/mcjf/. There is a $10.00 registration fee, $20.00 the day of the fair.

November 21, 2014 Michigan’s Global Future Conference for International Students-9:00am-5:00pm

Registration is now available for GTRI’s student conference! hosted by Quicken Loans and Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce. The conference will include a city and industry tour. Presentations topics include:

– Job search and interview strategies
– H-1B information
– Employer panel, giving insight to what employers are looking for
– Entrepreneurship and investment strategies

This is a free event that will both inform students about employers and give them an up close look at how to approach the job market. Dear all,
Your final exam scores are posted on Blackboard.
Your letter grades were submitted on Titan Connect and will show on your record on Monday.
They are posted on Blackboard too, but in case there is a discrepancy, the Titan Connect grade prevails. If your grade is C,C+,B-,B,B+,A-,A, please come to class as usual.
If your grade is XF,F,D,D+,C-, you will receive an email instructing you where to go on Monday.
